Manager Keith Hill has today strengthened his squad with the addition of former Dale midfielder Joe Thompson.
The 23-year-old returns to Spotland on loan from League One side Tranmere Rovers until the end of the season.
Thompson left Rochdale for the Superwhites in the summer after six years of first team service at the club and has made 17 appearances for Ronnie Moore’s side this season.
The move is subject to clearance from the FA and the Football League.
