Rochdale welcome Aldershot Town to Spotland this Good Friday looking to turn recent good performances into points.
Ahead of the fixture, Manager Keith Hill has been setting out what he’s looking for from his players between now and the end of the season, starting with Friday’s encounter against the Shots.
“We’re looking to win games and we’ve got to win games, it is as simple as that,” said Hill. “Aldershot are coming here needing to win games and so are we. I want the players to have a winning mentality and a winning attitude with an application. To a certain degree they’ve shown me that they can and they’ve shown me that they are willing, but it has got to be shown over 95 minutes, week in and week out. That’s when you get success, and I mean real success, not just sporadically."
He continued: "I’m looking for all fans to support the team. We will need their support more so on Friday than we probably would do against Gillingham or teams who are above us and going for promotion. It could be a nervous weekend but I’m really optimistic going into both games. I’ve seen some brilliant training sessions this week. We had last weekend off as a result of the game being postponed, but we were ready for that game so I’m hoping we’ll carry that energy and the vibrancy that I’ve seen from the players in training into the match because this is where you earn your money, this is where you earn your reputation, where you earn your futures. There is a little bit of pressure on it but pressure makes diamonds.”
