Manager Keith Hill has moved to bolster his defensive options before the close of the loan window with the addition of Wayne Thomas.
The 33-year-old, who can play either in the centre of defence or in the right full back position, will join Dale on loan until the end of the season from Conference Premier side Luton Town, subject to the relevant clearance from the Football League and the FA.
Thomas joined the Hatters in January after returning from an 18 month spell in Greece during which he featured for Greek Super league sides FC Atromitos Athens and Veria.
During a career which has seen him notch up over 400 hundred appearances, the 6ft 2 defender has also played for clubs including Torquay United, Stoke City and Doncaster Rovers.
