One local football team recently had the opportunity to take in the experience of playing on a Premier League pitch thanks to Dale’s Football in the Community Trust and the Co-operative.
Littleborough Juniors under 9’s represented Rochdale AFC at a Co-operative organised tournament at Stoke City’s Britannia Stadium.
The youngsters performed heroically against Bradford City, Stone Dynamoes and the Sentinel, winning one out of their three fixtures. This saw them finish in third place.
All players received medals, a certificate plus a replica kit.
Richard Park, Littleborough Juniors Manager, commented: “It was a fantastic day out for the lads and everybody has been buzzing about the experience. I would like to thank Keith Hicks, Dale’s Football in the Community Trust Manager, for inviting us to take part and Aileen Walters from the Co-operative for giving us this chance of a lifetime.”
