Rochdale’s under 18 side will be hoping it is third time lucky as they look to play their second round Youth Alliance Cup match against Hartlepool United this weekend.
The game has already been postponed twice due to the weather, however the fixture has been re-scheduled for 12noon this Saturday.
It is the first match Chris Beech’s side have been involved in since their FA Youth Cup win over Crewe Alexandra, and Beech says the lads are raring to go: “We had a couple of training sessions over the Christmas period and we’ve had a good week this week, we’ve worked hard from New Year’s Day onwards. We put them through fitness tests and they looked well, so they have definitely looked after themselves.”
