Dale’s nomination for Mitre Goal of the Year is Andrew Tutte’s strike against Chesterfield at the Proact Stadium in August.
Last week we asked supporters to help us decide which goal from the last 12 months should be put forward as our nomination after the Football League launched a search to find the best goal from 2012.
Tutte’s stunning strike from 25-yards against the Spireites came out on top in the poll, while his goal against Huddersfield at the Galpharm Stadium last March was second. Jason Kennedy’s 83rd minute goal, which earned Dale three points at Accrington Stanley’s Crown Ground in October, came in third.
Tutte’s goal will now be entered in the Mitre Goal of the Year category at the Football League Awards 2013.
