Hill Satisfied With Torquay Win

18 February 2013

Rochdale recorded a comfortable win over Torquay United at Spotland on Saturday to give Keith Hill his first victory since returning to the club last month.

A first half goal from Rhys Bennett was enough to separate the two sides in a match dominated by the home side.

Manager Keith Hill gave his thoughts on the victory to Dale Player after the game.

“That’s 99 league victories for me now,” said Hill. “I’m really satisfied because to generate belief about what we’re trying to achieve and what we’re doing on the training pitch we need results. We’re turning an idea into a good idea by picking up results like that. We looked quite solid apart from the mistake that Shane made early in the game and I’m pleased we’ve kept a clean sheet again. It’s great to get the three points on the board because like I said, it generates a snowball effect and that belief.”

Rochdale head to Barnet’s Underhill Stadium this coming Saturday and Hill says the preparation has already started: “We’ve got a week to prepare for that now. The players are responding to what we’re trying to introduce and we can give them a plan, fill them with information and then there’s got to be an ease off so they can perform. They’ve done that today (Saturday), there was times when we can be better, but it’s about making sure we get through the finish line with our League Two status and then we can really start building for the future.”

The full interview with Keith is on Dale Player now.
