Peter Vincenti, who netted the winner in Rochdale's FA Cup win over Rotherham United on Saturday, says he is looking forward to pitting his wits against Championship opposition after Dale landed Leeds United in the third round of the competition.
The goal was Vincenti's second FA Cup goal for Dale and he says it was nice to score at the New York Stadium.
He told Dale Player: "I had a disappointing time at the New York Stadium at the end of last season because I got relegated there with Aldershot, so it was nice to go there and to get a win. To score in front of the Rochdale fans was a sweet moment.
"It was a good day for the lads – everyone played well and did their bit, and it’s great to be in the third round of the FA Cup."
He continued: "I’m reasonably happy with the draw. I would have liked one of the top Premier League clubs away from home, but no, I think it’s a good draw. I think they’ll bring a big following so it could be close to a sell out.
"They are a massive club, probably one of the biggest clubs outside of the Premiership so it’s a good draw for us. They’re doing well in the Championship now so it’ll be good for us to test ourselves against them.
It’ll be difficult and no doubt we’ll be underdogs, but at home we might surprise a few people, so it’s a game to look forward to."
