Manager Keith Hill gives his thoughts on the Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two encounter against Fleetwood Town at Spotland.
He told Dale Player: The environment has been set and it’s a very good environment. We try to learn from our previous games experience, we look at where we can do better, what we’ve got to maintain and what we’ve got to try to improve on.
“It has been a good week and we’ve had three really good training sessions in preparation for the weekend. Fleetwood are an excellent side and they’re rightly up there due to their player drive recruitment. The Manager is now getting an experience and a feel of the league and the owner has got a determination to get Fleetwood as high up the footballing league spectrum as they possibly can and he’s got a right to be able to do that. He has drove the success, he has developed Fleetwood as a Football Club and he should be proud of that because he has developed the stadium, he has developed a winning ethos, and with respect to Graham Alexander as well, they’re developing a very good side that is competing in League Two for the possibility of promotion.”
He continued: “It’s two good sides and I think that the opposition will show us an enormous amount of respect. They’ve got a good side and we know their capabilities, but they’ll know ours. I think it will be down to the fine key details or the decision making of players.
"It has been billed as a big game, but every game is a big game. It’s great that we’re challenging at the right end of the table but we have to do it in a different way than Fleetwood. We can’t throw money at a potential promotion, but we know that it has been well documented that Fleetwood can.
“I’m pleased with the development of our squad and the players that we’ve recruited have responded superbly – they’re responding really well to the demands that I have put on them and we’re looking to over achieve. I do believe that we have the nucleus of a very good squad, not for just this season, but for next season and the future.”
