FITC: Player Visits

19 December 2013

Dale’s first team players have been continuing their weekly school visits with Dale’s Football in the Community Trust.

Jack O'Connell, Michael Rose and Andrew Tutte are amongst those who have taken time out of their schedules to interact with youngsters at local primary schools by taking part in question and answer sessions, while Josh Lillis and Robbie Thomson showed off their goalkeeping skills at another.

Keith Hicks, Head of Football in the Community Trust, commented: “This activity is a vital part of the Trust’s commitment to Rochdale and the surrounding community. It is supported by the PFA, who provide much needed funding to the Football League Trust.

“The importance of professional footballers going into schools and connecting with primary and secondary pupils cannot be underestimated.”

He continued: “We have found a day and time for players to attend schools to suit the wishes of Keith Hill and his management team in respect of re-fueling and rest periods after training sessions.

“Recently players have visited a fair number of schools through our respect lessons and the Co-operative multi-sport road.”
