Dale’s official Twitter account went into overdrive on Wednesday night after Rickie Lambert marked his England debut in fairy tale style.
The former Rochdale striker headed home England’s winner against Scotland with his first touch in international football, giving Roy Hodgson’s men a 3-2 friendly win at Wembley.
If the reaction on Twitter is anything to go by, we’re sure Dale fans across Rochdale and beyond will still have a smile on their faces this morning.
A big congratulations from everyone at Rochdale Football Club, Rickie!
