The family of Reg Jenkins will be the guests of both the Football Club and the Dale Trust on the final day of the season when we welcome Reg’s former team Plymouth Argyle to Spotland.
They will be the guests of the club throughout the day, and a special presentation will be made to their family by the Trust after the game at the club’s Awards Evening in the Ratcliffe Suite as Dale fans are given opportunity to pay tribute to the club’s greatest ever player.
Everyone was saddened to hear the news that Reg had died earlier this year aged 74 whilst recuperating from a knee operation in Tenerife. Without doubt, Jenkins has legendary status amongst the Dale support, after a nine year spell at Spotland in which he led Dale to our first ever promotion and he remains to this day the club’s record goalscorer.
