Dale’s under 18s secured their second win of the season on Saturday after hitting seven past Bury at Salford.
Callum Camps, Shaquille Antoine-Clark, Danny Whitehall and Joel Logan were on the scoresheet in the victory alongside Dimitri Tuanzebe who netted a first half hat-trick
The youngsters got off the mark after just 11 minutes through Camps, and goals from Tuanzebe and Antoine-Clark ensure Dale went into the interval five goals to the good.
Whitehall netted Rochdale’s sixth on 70 minutes, while Logan finished off proceedings minutes from time.
Youth team manager Chris Beech said: “Having challenged the squad last week to define who and what team we are going to choose to be this season following a win, draw and a loss, this was an emphatic victory. It was goals galore amongst committed play and a fantastic performance.”
He continued: “We face Bury again in the Lancashire Cup on Tuesday, and as wounded animal with pride, they will tend to bite back. So as we celebrate the weekend’s success, we keep a professional eye on Tuesday’s encounter.”
The youth team face Bury in the first round of the Lancashire Youth Cup this Tuesday (September 18th) at Salford City FC's Moore Lane. Kick-off is 2pm.
