Youngsters Aim For Wembley

16 November 2012

School kids will take to the Spotland pitch this Saturday

Kids from two local schools will take to the Spotland pitch at half time during Saturday’s League Two encounter against Bristol Rovers to compete for the chance to represent Dale in the regional finals of the npower U13s Girls Cup.

Youngsters from Hollingworth Business and Enterprise College, and St Cutherbert’s Business and Enterprise College, meet each other in the final of the local stage of the competition.

The winner of the match on Saturday will go forward to face various other schools from across the North West of England in the regional finals. The national final takes place at Wembley Stadium in April.

The girls’ class mates will also be at the game as their respective schools take up the offer of the ‘Adopt a School’ initiative which was introduced by Rochdale's Football in the Community Trust in September. The scheme sees free tickets handed out to youngsters at two different schools for every home league fixture.
