Youth team extend their unbeaten run to 13 thanks to a Whitehall double
Dale progressed to the second round of the Youth Alliance Cup on Saturday with a 2-1 over Tranmere Rovers at Rabyvale.A Danny Whitehall double ensured victory of the under 18s, a result which has extended their unbeaten run to 13.
Youth Team Manager Chris Beech gave his thoughts after the game: “Overall this was a tough encounter on a heavy pitch. The two goals were taken well by Danny and this allowed us to get a two goal cushion for the fourth game in a row. Although Tranmere responded well we weren’t really under too much pressure until we gave away a silly goal. After that Tranmere had a real go and full credit must be given for their determination.”
