Bell Looks Ahead To Rotherham Encounter

31 December 2012

Assistant Manager Jimmy Bell reflects on Saturday’s 4-2 win against Bradford City at Valley Parade and ahead to the New Year’s Day clash at home to Rotherham United.

“The word consistency keeps cropping up,” said Bell. "We know we can play like [the way we did against Bradford], we know we can get results like that, we know we can beat the top of the league, but we need to put a consistent run together to get to where we should be. I think everyone knows that we're the best footballing team in the league and some managers plan against us, whereas I think Bradford played into our hands and I thought we did a fantastic job there.

“Rotherham will bring a big contingent of fans and hopefully, if we can perform like we did against Cheltenham in our last home match, our supporters will get behind us which I know they will. There was a fantastic following for us at Bradford so everything is set up for a fantastic game. Rotherham are on top form and at the moment we’ve got to strive to match them and get in the play-off places.

"Getting back in the play-offs is our main aim. How we’ve dropped out of them I don’t know because we’re too good a team to have done that, but the league table doesn’t lie and we’ve got to get back there. We’ve had a blip and it would be nice to get the first win of 2013 and three wins out of four against very good opposition.”
