Scott Wiseman anger at reports

Former Rochdale player Scott Wiseman spoke to the Dale media team following his side’s dramatic win the first round of the Capital One Cup following reports of dis-respectful comments aimed at Rochdale AFC.

The defender was visibly upset by suggestions in the press that he’d ‘had a go’ at Rochdale and asked us to set the record straight.

“I never said anything dis-respectful about Rochdale and I’m upset that anyone would think I’d ever do that,” said Wiseman.

“Rochdale is a club I hold dearly to my heart and when I heard of press reports stating that I’d belittled the club I was very angry.

“Anything I have said prior to game was never a put down on the club and if it has come across like that then it is simply bad journalism.

“I was very disappointed when Dale went down last season, I want them to do well and I always look out for their results.  I just wanted to set the record straight, I love the club and wish the players, management and supporters all the best for the season.”
