Reece Gray is expected to be discharged from hospital today following a successful operation on his ankle.
The 19-year-old dislocated his ankle, fractured his fibula and snapped his medial ligament during a closed-doors friendly last week, and underwent surgery on Thursday morning.
Dale physio Andy Thorpe has given the latest on Reece following his operation: “I have spoken to the surgeon who carried out Reece’s operation and it has been a success. There were complications with his ankle as his fracture was a lot more complicated than we first expected, but the surgeon has been able to deal with that, and he has been able to sort out the soft tissue damage around his ankle as well. Overall the operation went really well. We still expect him to be out for around six months.”
