Dale physio Andy Thorpe has given an update on the injury sustained by Reece Gray during Sunday’s closed doors pre-season friendly against Liverpool.
“We now know that as well as dislocating his ankle and fracturing his fibula, Reece has also snapped his medial ligament," said Thorpe.
“He spent last night at a local hospital and will remain there until Wednesday. He will then be transferred to a hospital in Liverpool where he will have an operation on either Thursday or Friday.
“After the operation Reece will spend around two months in plaster before starting the rehabilitation process. At the moment it is looking likely that he’ll be side lined for up to six months.”
