Dale forward Reece Gray today suffered a serious ankle injury during a closed doors pre-season friendly match.
It is not known at this stage how long the 19-year-old will be side lined for.
Physio Andy Thorpe explains the extent of Reece’s injury: “Reece fell awkwardly on his ankle during the game resulting in him dislocating his ankle and fracturing his tibula. He has also suffered soft tissue damage.
“He was taken straight to hospital where he had an x-ray, and had his leg put in plaster. He’ll require surgery due to the nature of the fracture and we expect this to take place later in the week, possibly Friday.”
The club would like to wish Reece a speedy recovery.
We’ll keep you update with the latest on Reece throughout the week.
