The Youth Team were beaten 4-0 by Tranmere Rovers in the EFL Youth Alliance League on Saturday.

The visitors took the lead midway through the first-half, with the forward latching on to a ball behind the defence and finishing beyond Dale goalkeeper.

They doubled the lead ten minutes later. Ben Chalton saved a powerful header from a corner, but a follow up was turned home from close range.

A third was added on the stroke of half-time, when a Dale defender turned the ball past his own goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

Tranmere scored their fourth goal on the hour mark, when they worked the ball across the edge of the area to the back post, where the ball was fired beyond the visiting goalkeeper.
