Ryan is a midfield player who has joined Dale on a season-long loan from EFL League Two side Bradford City.
The 25-year-old came through the ranks at Reading, but left the Madejski Stadium for Swindon Town in the summer of 2021.
East made 23 appearances in all competitions for The Robins in 2021/22 as they finished in the League Two play-offs, before moving to Bradford City during the following close season.
