Chris Beech's Youth team travelled to Burnley yesterday afternoon and put in a great performance, winning 2 - 1.
Considering that most of the players had featured in the reserves on Monday this result is even more pleasing and a testament to their fitness and desire to do well. Talking to Chris after the match he said ' That was a tough shift for the boys on Monday against a strong team on a very difficult pitch. This was a good result for us today. In the last few weeks I have been working with our strikers and challenging them to be more ruthless and clinical in front of goal. Both our strikers responded today with Helio Andre and Reece Gray scoring in a strong team performance. The last defeat for the youth team was against Villa in the FA Youth Cup ( Villa are now in the Semi Finals ) so the challenge to the lads is now to see the season out unbeaten in 2010 ".
