Dale's youth team played Walsall FC on Saturday 6^th February 2010, and in what was an excellent performance finished as 3-2 winners.

Dale's goals were scored by Liam Murray in the 31^st minute, Laurie Bell in the 35^th minute and Chris Brown, who got the third in the 40^th minute.

Talking with boss Chris Beech after the match he commented , "Playing 4-5-1 we attacked well in numbers and defended resiliently. It was a close game against a well organised team but looking at the opportunities in the game overall Rochdale AFC deserved the victory.

Lessons learned today are for the players to have more off the ball movement and not to get to arrogant in possession in the wrong areas.

It very pleasing day especially as we have not played due to the weather conditions since the 12^th December 2009. "
