The scholars returned to the building on Monday 30th June and Chris Beech is more than happy with the schedule that awaits them as they prepare for season 2008-9, including 4 days away on a bonding and training camp.

"  Our first game is against Carlisle United at Myerscough College on 16th July ( a game split into 6 x 15 minute sections)and then we return there on the following Monday for a 4 day stay. It is a top notch venue and being an agricultural college the pitches and facilities are really very good. Blackpool's first team use it for their pre season preparations and we have had nothing but good reports from them about it. Whilst we are there we will be holding 3 training sessions a day but as well as working hard we will be having some quality down time and working on bonding the lads together, especially the new recruits"

" We actually have a game whilst we are there, on 23rd against Blackpool ,and on our way back play at Euxton Villa on Saturday 26th July. When we come back we then have 2 very exciting fixtures, both away from home against Everton and Manchester City on 2nd and 6th August"

" Our season is due to start on the 16th August but I am trying to bring our opening fixture forward a week to the 9th"
