Scott joined Dale in the summer of 2008 from Darlington alongside team-mate Clark Keltie.
The right-back started his career at hometown club Hull City, and after loan spells at Boston United and Rotherham United he joined Darlington in the summer of 2006. 'Wisey' made just 19 league appearances in his two years in the North-East, and was released by Darlington after losing to Dale in the 2008 play-offs.
He initially signed a 6 month contract, but after impressing at right-back in the absence of the injured Simon Ramsden, was offered a contract until the end of the season. Scott made 30 starts and was a regular in the Dale side that shot up the table to be automatic promotion contenders. However, injury saw defender's season end early and he missed out on Dale's play-off campaign. Scott was released at the end of the season due to financial restrictions, but following Simon Ramsden's departure to Bradford, he was re-signed in June 2009.
