Work continues apace on the Spotland pitch after the old surface was scraped away on Monday and the first layer of foundation was applied on Wednesday.

Dale groundsman Phil Collinson said, "The work is going well and we should have everything done by the end of the week if it all goes according to plan.  The weather has been very kind to us and we hope it continues to go the same way because there's a lot of growing to do before the Bolton Wanderers game."
