Dale defender Craig Dawson won the League 2 Player of the Year at the prestigious annual Football League awards ceremony in London.

Craig was voted 43rd in the FourFourTwo top 50 Football League players making him the highest ranked League 2 player and the overall winner of the League 2 award.

Craig kept good company as Jermaine Beckford of Leeds United won the League 1 award while Kevin Nolan of Newcastle United picked up the Championship award and was the top rated player in the Football League.

The club were also recognised by being in the top 3 of the League 2 Family Club of the Year and youngster Chris Brown was in the top 3 of the League 2 Apprentice of the Year.

Craigs award brings national recognition not only for himself but also for the Club. The award recognises the outstanding year that Craig has had but also th part that he has played in the success of the club. Everyone at Rochdale sends their sincere congratulations to Craig.
