They were bad conditions. We took full advantage of the wind in the first half and got a 2 goal advantage that we should have turned into 3 when it would have been game over. Scotty made a couple of substitutions at the break, the crowd got behind them a little bit but we made sure that they didn't create any real opportunities.

We dug it out in the second half when we were put under intense direct pressure. We handled it well but we have good footballers in our squad. Brentford tried to "football" us in the first half but they couldn't so they resorted to direct football but still couldn't get to us. It perhaps made it easier for us the fact that Nathan elder wasn't able to play for them because he is their battering ram, their big central striker. They went with Bowditch and McDonald but if you are going to go direct it is easy pickings for Rory McArdle who was excellent for us. He also got a brilliant goal for us as well so deserves credit and accolades.

It was also a very good finish by Will Buckley. He has got a bright future and we need to keep him under the radar I suppose. He is steadily progressing but needs to be rested or rotated whatever you want to call it as does Joe Thompson and Adam Rundle because we ask for a lot of work, endeavor and quality from our wide players. We get that from them all and they know that they are not getting dropped when they are rested.  Today it was Joe's turn to sit things out; he did look a little tired mentally on Tuesday.

We can now look forward to a good game at Scunthorpe on Tuesday in the JPT. We have had them watched and know what they are capable of doing but there is a belief among all the players that we can go and win football matches.
