Dale's good run came to an abrupt halt as a decent Durham team out competed Dale in the midfield area , Dale stood off and Durham made most of the attacking play. But in a moment of magic Rachael Wood received a pass from Claire Pearson and Woody run down the wing and cut back a great ball to Lizzie Paul who bravely fired home for Dale just before half time.
Dale tired a new formation after the break as Rachael Davis made way for Siobhan McElhinney. Dale began well, great work by Lizzie Paul saw Holly Newman with a great chance to put the game to bed but the shot was cleared off the line by a Durham defender. A good shout for a penalty went a stray as Dale where on top, but a good cross from Durham saw them first to the ball and the score line stood at 1 1 . Durham picked up the pace as both sides looked for the winner, a cross from the right wing found an incoming Durham player who headed home for Durham.
Rochdale now chased the game and with only three at the back Durham netted again. A disappointing result for the home side and one that flattered Durham. Dale need to do better but today was one of those days as Dale can play great football.
