After Dale ladies trophy success at last weeks Umbro International tournament the girls had to overcome stiff opposition again to add another trophy to the cabinet. Dales group included Preston, Wolves, Notts Forrest and Macclesfield.

Dales first game against Preston ended a draw, as did the second game against Wolves. Dale were confident of the next two games earning them six points and enough to qualify for the latter stages but Macclesfield had different ideas and after being outplayed by Macclesfield, Dales ladies had the stern managerial talk given as we needed three points in the last game and Dale won 2 nil taking them through to the quarter finals.

Dale played Preston's second team and emerged 2 nil winners to find themselves in the semi finals against Urmston, which again Dale ran out winners to set up a final against West Auckland who beat us last year in the final on penalties. It was always going to be a hard fought game but we emerged as winners after a great goal from the left-winger Jess.

The preparation for the coming season that starts on 17th August is looking good
