Dale Ladies win again
The rain stopped in time for KO but a cold wind blew during the game, Dale kicked into the wind, which played havoc along side a bouncy pitch passing football. The game was evenly balanced but a long ball from Step Bell found Rachael Wood at left wing, Wood controlled the ball well and side footed a pass to an incoming Sarah Buffel to ram home. Bradford fought back well and a nice piece of individual skill saw Bradford draw level beating Dale's keeper Lauren Bracewell at the near post on the 35th minute .the stalemate continued to the break.
At the restart dale had the wind behind them Sarah Buffel, Steph Bell and Lisa Wood all came close to breaking the deadlock. Dale had the upper hand despite the hard conditions playing some good stuff, Siobhan McElhinney made a darting run from centre mid field at Bradford's back four only to be fouled on the edge of the box. Susie Wells or as known by her nick name Becks lined up to take the direct free kick, a inch perfect strike into the top corner beating Bradford's goalkeeper to make it 2 1.
Dale began passing the ball with authority only brilliant goalkeeping by Bradford kept down the score. Robyn Finc came into the game as Dale's first sub and Lisa Wood made way after a good performance. Bradford still battled bravely and defenders Claire Pearson, Katie Wood, Lizzie Baird and Nicola Ireson had to be on top of their game.Dale's keeper Lauren Bracewell played with a slight stomach injury but despite this she still proved effective.
Dale's 3rd goal was a brilliantly worked move involving over 7 players and 12 passes before Steph Bell beat the Bradford defence with a pass splitting the central defenders and Sarah Buffel coolly slipped the ball past an out coming keeper to make the score 3 1 .
