With the players heading out to their pre-season training camp in Spain on Sunday, Dale boss Keith Hill spoke to the website about the benefits to the trip to Spain, and the importance of the trip to the season's preparations.

"The trip to Spain will be specific towards our requirements. It gives us great time on the training pitch and great time in the sunshine. It also gives us the chance to change things tactically which we might do this season. This is why going to Spain benefits us massively, as it gives us a good environment in which we can work, and it gives us the perfect start to our preparation for the coming season."

As well as being a trip geared towards the start of the new season, the week will also settle the players back down together, getting them talking, which can only be a good thing on the pitch.

"It's a great team bonding exercise. The lads get a lot of time to themselves in a relaxed environment, so it's a great opportunity for them to get closer as a group, which can only help on the pitch. However, the greatest form of team bonding is winning football matches, and going to Spain gives us a great platform to build on in order to achieve our aim of winning football matches."

The players will return from Spain on the 11th of July, and get right back into the swing of things on home soil with the first friendly at Radcliffe Borough taking place on Wednesday 15th of July.
