A team of youngsters from Oulder Hill Community School have recently represented Rochdale's Football in the Community Trust in the regional finals of the npower Football League under 13s Girls Cup.
The girls made it through to the semi finals of the competition with impressive wins over Preston and Morecambe, 6-4 and 6-0 respectively, and a 2-2 draw against Tranmere Rovers. The youngsters unfortunately went down 3-1 against a strong Blackpool side in the last four.
Tranmere went on to win the regional finals which means they have now progressed onto the area finals. This will decide which school from the North will take part in the national final which is held at Wembley before the Johnstones Paint Trophy final in March.
Oulder Hill Community School competed at the region finals after winning the Trust's tournament which was held before the Brentford game at Spotland earlier in the season.
The squad, managed by Karen Collier (PE Teacher), was: Sophie Charlton, Megan Ratu, Moet Griffiths, Kainat Nafees, Georgina Butterworth, Rebecca Marshall, Alex Bagshaw and Mio Griffiths.
