A friend to many and loved by all who know him, especially here at Rochdale, Ernie has recently found out he is suffering from a form of cancer known as Malignant Melanoma

When melanoma has spread around the body it is known as stage 4 or metastatic melanoma-unfortunately stage 4 disease is notoriously difficult to treat.

Treatments and trials are being carried out all over the world and Ernie is obviously keen to try whatever there is available to him.

Dr Paul Lorigan at Christie Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has treated Ernie and will continue to do so but at a significant cost

Eight members of our Community Staff (including Keith Hicks)  made it round the 10 kilometre Manchester Run in a very sensible time in a bid to raise money, which will go directly to influence his treatment.

Thus far the sum of £2500.00 has been raised and if you want to add to it please c
ontact Keith Hicks in the Football in the Community office.
