Injury Update: Peter Vincenti

24 October 2014

We’re pleased to confirm that the injury sustained by Peter Vincenti in Tuesday night’s win over Swindon Town isn’t as serious as first feared.

Vincenti went to ground awkwardly and left the pitch on a stretcher, but Manager Keith Hill has confirmed that the injury is not season ending.

He told Dale Player: “It’s not a serious, serious injury like it looked as though it could be. He’s going to be out for between four and six weeks.

“We were expecting the worst but we’ve probably got the best case scenario out of the injury. We’re really pleased that it’s not a season long injury because the manner in which he fell and twisted, it looked as though it could have been serious.

“We’ve spoken with Peter and he sees it as a window of opportunity to improve his physical conditioning while he’s injured, so he’s going to be better than he is when he comes back, which is going to be like having a new player on the training pitch when he’s fit to start training again.”
