Vincenti: There's More To Come

2 October 2015

Peter Vincenti reckons there’s still more to come from Rochdale.

The 29-year-old was speaking midweek following Dale’s 3-2 win over Shrewsbury Town at Spotland.

Keith Hill’s side stormed into an early 3-0 lead before the Shrews netted twice shortly before the interval.

“We started really, really well by obviously going 3-nil up within the first 15 minutes and I had sense that we would really go at it [before the game],” Vincenti told Dale PlayerHD.

“We were frustrated against Millwall on Saturday and I thought training was really, really good on Monday. The lads really seemed up for it and we came out of the blocks flying. They [Shrewsbury Town] obviously pegged us back and made it a bit nervy for the spectators, but I’m sure it was a great game of football to watch. I felt comfortable in the second half – they did have their moments but I though the lads defended well and we got the win which was the most important thing.”

Vincenti netted in the win, taking his tally for the season so far to five, but he’s just pleased that Dale are doing well.

“I’m happy because the team is doing well, I’m happy with where we are and I don’t think we’ve played as well as we can – I think there’s more to come.

“Personally, I think I started off quite slow this season but I’m happy to help out when I can and it’s a lot nicer scoring in a win than scoring in a defeat,” smiled Vincenti.

And he’s looking forward to Saturday’s League One fixture against Bradford City at Spotland.

“It’s important to make this place [Spotland] difficult for opposing to teams to come to and I think we’re trying to do that.

“Bradford is one to look forward to on Saturday and then we’re back here for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Tuesday.”
