Lewis Alessandra Is Enjoying His Time At Dale

13 September 2015

Lewis Alessandra has told Dale PlayerHD that he’s enjoying his time at the club.

The forward, who joined Rochdale after leaving Plymouth Argyle in the summer, made his Dale league debut on Saturday, after coming on as a second half substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Burton Albion.

Alessandra was disappointed not to have netted an equaliser, but was pleased to make an appearance.

“I’ve been looking forward to it [making his league debut],” he told Dale PlayerHD.

“When you look at our squad, not just the starting eleven, but the squad as a whole, then I knew it was going to be difficult to break into the team.

“I’m glad I got some game time today but I’m disappointed we’ve not been able to get anything out of the game. As a forward player, you want to try and affect the game and maybe get a goal back for us but unfortunately that hasn’t happened today.”

Alessandra, who is a local lad, continued: “There’s a top group of lads here - I know everyone says that but they actually are. I don’t think the Gaffer would have anyone in the camp who is a bad egg, so I’m enjoying it. I’m just going to keep working hard and hopefully take my chance when it comes.

“I was down there [Plymouth] on my own so it’s nice to be back up North and to see my family a lot more often.

“It’s also good to make the step up as well. The move wasn’t just about coming home, it was also about coming to a team that I thought would do well, and I feel that we will do well.”
