Jamie Allen Injury Update

27 March 2015

We can confirm that Jamie Allen hasn’t required any surgery on the head injury which he sustained in Tuesday night’s match v Oldham Athletic following a clash of heads.

It had been feared that the midfielder may need an operation due to the severity of the cut, but after being transferred from the Royal Oldham Hospital to North Manchester General Hospital to see a specialist, he received numerous stitches.

Speaking to Dale Player, Manager Keith Hill said: “He’s had quite a lot of stitches, both internally and externally.

“The cut is in a terrible place with respect to a possibility of a repeat injury from something as simple as a challenge.

“Because it's a serious injury we’ve got to be very careful. We’ve got to make sure that if Jamie does play again this season that it's right for him.”
