Hill: A Great Feeling On The Training Pitch

31 October 2014

Manager Keith Hill is looking forward to “an excellent game” as his side prepares to face Preston North End on Saturday.

North End make the trip to Spotland for a second time this season following the meeting between the two sides in the first round of the Capital One Cup back in August.

Hill told Dale Player that the players go into the game in good spirit after last week’s wins over Swindon Town and Yeovil Town.

"It was a tremendous week and it was a great feeling turning up to work again on Monday.

“There’s a good feeling at the Football Club. There’s a great feeling on the training pitch and there’s a good feeling going into games.

“We have stuck to task with our plan and we’ll continue to do that. At the minute everything is going well and hopefully we’ll continue to be productive.”

Saturday’s match kicks off a busy month for Dale, with six games scheduled including a trip to MK Dons and a home derby against Oldham Athletic.

Hill recognises that it’ll be a difficult month, but says the focus is fully on Preston, first and foremost.

“We’ll enjoy the games, definitely. They will be difficult games against difficult opposition but we’ve got to try and deal with Preston first.

“They’re an excellent side and we’ve already witnessed that once this season. We’re well versed on the opposition – we’ve played them five times over the last 12 months or so. We played them last pre-season,
we’ve played them once already this season and we’ve played them three times behind closed doors, so we know their squad in its entirety like they know ours.

“Simon Grayson is a superb Manager and Preston are a Championship side and a Championship Football Club, and you could argue that potentially they could be a Premier League Club.

“It’s going to be an excellent game. It’ll be a difficult task but we’ll definitely have no fear.

“We will, however, have a lot of respect for the opposition and what they’ve done so far this season because they’re in their rightful place at this moment in time in the top two.”
