Hill: We’ll Put It Behind Us

14 April 2014

Manager Keith Hill spoke to Dale Player following Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Mansfield Town’s One Call Stadium...

“It’s a game of football where we’ve beaten and we possibly needed that, possibly that might help,” said Hill.

“It was a difficult pitch and difficult opposition. We can’t deny that there was a physical element to the opposition and the way that play, and I thought that they played their game exceptionally well. We dealt with it for most of the game, but you’ve got to look at the result and that’s the real disappointment, as well as the manner in which the three goals were conceded.

“We had our opportunities in the first half and that’s undeniable. A better pass or a better and it could have been a different story, but it’s not a different story. At the end of the day, if someone had asked me this morning would I have taken where we are now at the beginning of the season, I think everyone in the league would have done. Let’s not make this crisis and focus on the next game.

“We’ll put the game behind us because we can’t affect this game again, and we’re looking forward to the Southend game [on Good Friday]. We’ve come a long way this season and the season isn’t finished yet, so we’ve got to continue in the form that we have been in. That form has been good.”
