Manager Keith Hill admits that he’d prefer to recruit his own players this summer but hasn’t completely ruled out utilising the loan market.
“I’m open minded but I’d prefer to recruit our own players,” said Hill. “We want to develop our own players and make saleable assets but if there is a necessity to use the loan market I would.
“I don’t feel as though loaning in players benefits Rochdale Football Club and I’m keen to create our own environment with our own players and create our own history.
“I don’t want to be in a position where I’m utilising loan players who aren’t owned by us, but if I do have to then it will be a short term measure.”
