Hill Not Waiting Around

5 June 2013

Manager Keith Hill has made it clear since the end of the season that he is not prepared to wait around on potential signings making their minds up, and Hill remains ruthless in his approach.

Two out of the eight who were offered new deals by the club this summer have yet to accept and Hill admits there can be no waiting around.

Long serving Jason Kennedy is one of those yet to give confirmation to the Gaffer and Hill explains the situation at present.

“I’ve been in contact with Jason and he knows the position of the Football Club,” said Hill. “He has the right to look for alternatives with respect to his own future but he knows where I stand. If I’m in a position where I can recruit a central midfielder to replace him then he understands I’m going to do that and there is a possibility that his contract offer won’t stand.

“I have a great relationship with Jason and he has been a great servant to this Football Club. I’d love to be able to retain him but if he’s going to turn down the deal or he’s not happy with the offer in place then I have alternate players who can come in.

“I believe that I have offered Jason a very good deal as well as making sure that we’re working within the financial parameters of the Football Club.”
