Hill: As Close As You Can Get To A Perfect Performance

31 August 2015

Manager Keith Hill spoke to Dale Player following his side’s well deserved 3-0 win over Barnsley at Spotland…

“We were absolutely superb from start to finish,” said Hill.

“I don’t think there’s any real need to dissect that game – I thought we were as close as you can get to a perfect performance, so I’m pleased.

“And I was pleased before the game. I was pleased with Tuesday [against Hull City] because a large percent of what we did was superb. Managers can react in certain ways when they get defeated but I looked at the game on Tuesday and thought that the majority of that team really needed to play again.

“It was a perfect fit for us today - a perfect formation and perfect tactics, so I’m really pleased with the outcome of the game.”

He added: "We’ve finished the month off well and we’re glad of the start that we’ve had.

“We’re also encouraged by the depth of our squad, with respect to having players who are coming back from injury and players that we’ve also signed like Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.

“I had to leave Rhys Bennett and Scott Tanser off the bench today so I think we’re in good shape.”
