Academy Achieves Category Three Status

23 September 2014

Rochdale AFC’s Academy has achieved Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) category three status.

EPPP is a new and exciting partnership which aims to revolutionise the way the club plans, delivers and monitors elite football programmes for young players.

It's a framework made up of ten key performance indicators which are devised by the Premier League, The FA and The Football League.

Academies are audited and given a category status of one to four, with one being the most elite. The ten different key indicators considered in the grading, included the club’s vision, it's coaching, its leadership and management, as well as player development and progression.

Rochdale AFC have recently been awarded Category Three following the four day audit, meaning the club has the licence to operate a full academy from under-7s to under-18s and can continue to produce players such as Jamie Allen, Will Buckley, Johny Diba, Matt Hughes and Scott Tanser, to name just a few.

Dale achieved top marks in the majority of categories, gaining one hundred percent for vision and financial sustainability, as well as 94 percent for player development and progression, and 90 percent in leadership and management.
