Bury: Preview

1 August 2014

Rochdale’s preparations for the forthcoming League One campaign will continue this weekend with a short trip to Bury’s JD Stadium.

Following Dale’s promotion to League One, Saturday’s match could be the only encounter between the two sides this season, unless they are drawn against each other in a cup competition, of course.

The fixture is Dale’s seventh and final friendly of the summer, following games against AFC Fylde, FC Halifax Town, Wigan Athletic, Bolton Wanderers, Middlesbrough and Macclesfield Town.

BURY’S PRE-SEASON SO FAR
Bury have recently returned from Tenerife, where they spent a week at the T3 – the same facilities where Dale enjoyed a week long training camp earlier in the month.

Before their departure for the Canary Island, the Shakers turned out against Radcliffe Borough at Stainton Park (1-4), Sheffield Wednesday at home (1-3) and Salford City at Moor Lane.

This week they welcomed Blackburn Rovers to the JD Stadium, earning a 1-1 draw against the Championship side.

TRANSFER NEWS
It has been a busy summer so far for Bury boss Dave Flitcroft, with several new additions arriving at the JD Stadium. Money moves have included the signings of Nicky Adams and Ryan Lowe from Rotherham United and Tranmere Rovers, respectively.

Former Daley Ashley Grimes has recently gone in the opposite direction, joining Walsall on a one year deal.
