#Movember & #BrandonsBeard

Who is planning on getting hairy this November?

After last year’s fantastic effort, who fancies joining Team Rochdale and getting hairy again this November?

This time last year, we announced the details of our #BrandonsBeard campaign, which saw players, club staff and fans alike grow their beards during November to help buy a special bed for Brandon Beech who suffers from cystic fibrosis. If you need a reminder of the story, click HERE.

In true Team Rochdale spirit, enough money was raised to buy the bed, with Brandon receiving it just in time for Christmas.

Since then, the 11-year-old has had to undergo a liver transplant. The transplant was carried out earlier this year and he is doing well. Mad about football, he continues to attend every Dale home game.

Following the success of last year’s #BrandonsBeard campaign, we’ve decided to keep the legacy going. Money raised obviously won’t be going towards a bed, however, we have chosen the Children’s Liver
Disease Foundation to benefit from any money raised.

Meanwhile, in another change from last year, Rochdale Football Club is also supporting this year’s Movember campaign during November.

Movember, backed by the Football League, aims to change the face of men’s health with the growing of moustaches. The campaign has raised £345m for men’s health over the last ten years and has been responsible for over 850 initiatives concerned with prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health.

There will be a spilt in the Dale dressing room when it comes to who is growing what, with the players splitting their support between #BrandonsBeard and #Movember.

So, who’s in, and what’s it going to be? A beard or a moustache?! Let us know via our social media channels if you’ll be taking part and which one you’ll be growing. Twitter - @officiallydale, Facebook – Rochdale Afc

We’ve set up a MoSpace, so if you decide to grow a moustache, you can join our team by clicking HERE.

There will of course be people out there who can’t grow a beard… if that’s you, but you still want to get involved, then you can pledge your support by sponsoring the players. All you have to do it donate via the respective pages.
