The Youth Team’s unbeaten start to the season continued on Saturday.
Dale’s under 18 side were 2-0 winners over Burnley at the Barnfield Training Centre, making it eight games without defeat.
Two goals in as many second half minutes secured the three points for Rochdale. Neil Kuemo opened the scoring, before Matty Gillam doubled Dale’s advantage.
Kuemo put pressure on the Burnley defence midway inside their half and did exceptionally well to snatch the ball before running in on goal and slotting coolly beyond the goalkeeper who was caught off his line.
Soon after and Dale netted again.
Winning the ball on the half-way line, Rochdale hit the home side on the attack and Gillam showed great composure to strike in off the far post from the edge of the area.
