Vacancy: Rochdale AFC Disability Sport Development Co-ordinator


Hours: 37 hours a week (including some evenings and weekends)

Term: The post is funded for a three-year period

The post holder will be based at Rochdale AFC Community Sports Trust; the Disability Project is funded by Children in Need. 

The post holder will be responsible for increasing and widening sport and physical activity participation amongst children and young people with a disability through developing high quality provisions across the borough of Rochdale.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual with a proven track record of coaching to a wide range of groups in different settings. 

It would be an advantage for the post holder to have a good understanding of the needs of people with disabilities and the barriers they face. 

Interested people should have experience of co-ordinating, planning and organising sport delivery, competitions, events, supervising and mentoring volunteers and assistant coaches, have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with range of stakeholders, liaising with special schools, parents, sports clubs etc.

Applicants should have a minimum of two years coaching experience and possess a minimum of one Level “2” National Coaching Body of Sport Coaching qualification plus a range of Level “1” National Governing Body awards would be an advantage.

An offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory DBS as the post involves working with children and young people.
