Last week, Dale’s Youth Team scholars and under 16 players were treated to an inspirational talk called 'Anything Is Possible' by Charlie Fogarty as part of the Life Skills Programme provided by LFE.
Charlie was a scholar with MK Dons and had played for Northern Ireland U15s.
On March 17th 2012, he was making his way to MK Dons for training when he was knocked down by a car and suffered catastrophic injuries. Not expected to live let alone build a life for himself, Charlie now tours the country delivering talks to scholars about the need for perseverance and self-belief.
With a self-deprecating sense of humour, Charlie has rebuilt his life and now plays for Northern Ireland’s Cerebral Palsy team and is poised to go to the World Cup in Argentina next year.
